A COLLINGWOOD restaurant owner has taken out the Miss Pinup Australia title, which celebrates vintage glamour, in an event in Sydney.

Kristin Lemura, who owns The Noble Experiment, was surprised to win the gong ahead of finalists from around the country.

“I hadn’t thought about prizes or anything,” she said.

“I have always loved the glamour of the 1940s and 1950s and I love to dress this way because the styling and designs are flattering on just about everyone.

“I am particularly fond of the clothing styles from the 1940s, wearing tailored 1940s reproduction trousers to work almost every day. It allows me to stand out and be a little different.

“The celebrities of the period always looked so flawless with their hair and makeup — I like to try and replicate that as much as I can.”

Ms Lemura, who goes by the stage name Cherry Fizz, will reign as Miss Pinup Australia until the 2015 competition.

Ms Lemura owns and runs the Smith St business with her partner Daniel Lemura.
